Your contributions to Style Encyclopedia

Style Encyclopedia is a public web site. Any information you post on a Style Encyclopedia page will be available to the general public to read, edit, link to and re-publish.

If you prefer that a piece of information remain private, please do not post it in any Style Encyclopedia articles; once it's there, it's public forever.

Your personal details

If you'd like to contribute to Style Encyclopedia, we require only one personal identifying detail: an email address. This is private data that we will not voluntarily disclose to any other party (except as required by law) without your express prior written permission.

However, if you're a fashion industry insider, we ask that you let us know who you are as a courtesy. To do this:

  1. Use either your real name of company name as your Style Encyclopedia username
  2. Talk about your work and interests on your user page (linked from your username)

If you do choose to share this information, it will be made public -- which is the whole point. Identifying you as a person with specific expertise lets readers know that what they're reading is expert opinion.

While people may question your objectivity on some topics (say, the company you work for ;) if you declared your interest, we will respect your honesty.
